Osteria della Vite
Awesome Fish & Wine in the Heart of Rome.
We were searching for a great place to eat in the heart of Rome and every single restaurant was jam packed! After we tripped past Trevi Fountain… then stumbled to the fountain made famous in “Angels & Demons” Bernini’s sculpture in Piazza Navona… we decided it was time to use “The Touch System” to find a place off the eaten path.
Walking to the right on a well-lit alley then a left on another, we arrived at Osteria della Vite. At first glance… same dealio… no table. But then up walks Massimo, he might have been the owner, or a patron, but he offered two glasses of Lemochello while he had his boys bring a table and two chairs from out of nowhere. In moments they placed it in the street… table cloth, set ups… and in minutes we had fresh bread, oil & vinegar… and a truly awesome meal!
Bravo Massimo! But we did have to scoot our chairs closer to the restaurant when large vehicles tried to drive by.
