You will find the best tropical coastline drive in the Florida Keys.
Wait… Does an island hopping road, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Gulf of Mexico, count as a coastline? In my book it’s two coasts for the price of one. From Key Largo to Key West this drive down on the Overseas Highway, US-1 does not disappoint. Many times featuring 360 degree tropical water views.
Have a little adventure lollygagging your way around various keys taking in the local island culture feeding the tarpon, or cruise straight through and you’ll get to the most southern point of the continental USA in about 3 hours (Hawaii’s Big Island is technically more south). Before you know it you’ll be wasted away again in Margaritaville. Cheers to that!
