Sea Glass Beach

Sea Glass Beach

Ever since my parents got their beach house in Oxnard, California, my family has been obsessed with collecting sea glass. We were always beach combers, but the glass is abundant on the shores of Oxnard.

When I found Sea Glass beach as part of my Bermuda research, I HAD to go. Seriously, I couldn’t not go when I was so close! It’s not far from the cruise terminal, so if you are sailing in and you love sea glass, you need to make it a stop.

I don’t know why it happens, and quite frankly, I don’t know if anybody knows why, but the entire beach is just blanketed with multi colored pieces of sea glass gems. The only thing I could minutely complain about is the lack of rare colors. It really was just green, white and brown pieces, but I did find a few pieces of cool pottery too.

If I hadn’t of dragged my cousin to come with me, I would have stayed there all day but I tried really hard to make it short so I didn’t torture him too much 🙂 There was nobody else on the beach with us and it was about 9am, so I don’t know if we were lucky or if it’s pretty typical but it was great for us! So basically if you love sea glass and you’re in Bermuda, do yourself a favor and bring a baggie to Sea Glass Beach!
